The vet usually tries to reattach the wing with rods, but it is a tricky operation. I think we help a crow when I was a kid, and it stayed around for quite a while. Thank you for your kind comment.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05250212496391989223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7879689665469677796.post-26000561760052950112015-09-20T10:20:44.157-03:002015-09-20T10:20:44.157-03:00What a beautiful hawk, and how lucky she was to fi...What a beautiful hawk, and how lucky she was to find your porch, and your empathetic heart, ready to rescue her. I hope you learn of the surgery results. Every bird is precious. I got teary reading this. I remember the first time I rescued (or tried to) a baby Robin. I was 7 ish. I put the injured baby bird in a box and tried to feed it worms. It died in my hands, and I cried for days. :-(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7879689665469677796.post-61676200897913483512015-09-18T08:35:53.552-03:002015-09-18T08:35:53.552-03:00It was exciting though a bit nerve-racking trying ...It was exciting though a bit nerve-racking trying to capture the hawk without hurting it more. Such a magnificent bird, and so sad to see it hurting and afraid. I don't expect to hear how it made out. I am putting hydrogen peroxide on my finger 3 times a day, trying to keep it clean. So far all is good, except it is a little sore. I usually don't have much excitement in my life on the mountain so this adventure was special.
